Chetan Timblo next to be grilled by ED

PANJIM: Chetan Timblo, managing director of Timblo Private Limited, will be questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) as part of the illegal mining case investigation on November 27.

A senior ED official said that summons were issued to Chetan on Wednesday asking him to remain present before the investigating officers on November 27.  “Chetan Timblo is being summoned following Radha Timblo’s submission before the investigating agency that Timblo Pvt Ltd and Timblo Minerals Pvt Ltd are operated under the Satish Timblo group of companies and Chetan Timblo is the MD,” sources said. 
Radha, who was questioned for over seven hours by ED officials on Tuesday, will be summoned again on December 2, wherein she has been asked to produce documents on financial transaction and iron ore production details. Along with Timblos, four other company executives – Arvind Hodarkar, Gurudas Kanekar, M R Hegde and Sanjay Alberto – have also been summoned on November 20, 21, 24 and 26 respectively.
ED had in June filed the investigation report (ECIR) under the Prevention of Money Laundering (PML) Act, 2002, in the mining scam. Timblo Private Limited is one among 16 firms which were issued notices by the ED in connection with the money laundering case emerging from illegal mining. Mean
while, ED on Wednesday questioned Pradip Mahatme, director of Chowgule Group, for over seven hours in connection with illegal mining. He has been given time till Dec 4 to submit some additional documents pertaining to the company.
