VASCO: The Chicalim Village Panchayat on Monday issued a stop work notice to an alleged illegal structure under construction along the Navy compound wall near Dabolim junction.
According to Chicalim Sarpanch Neelima Naik, the Navy at INS Hansa had asked the panchayat to take action against the structure near its compound wall. She said that though the panchayat was in process of taking action against such illegal structures, a new illegal structure is coming up with shops and that too by taking advantage of public holidays and the Model Code of Conduct.
She also informed that despite stop work notice, the concerned party did not stop the work. Thus, the panchayat would take the matter very seriously. She also disclosed that the panchayat authorities have already issued notices to other constructions, which have come up along the four lane highway, adjacent to the Indian Naval compound wall to produce their documentation and other approvals.
