VASCO: Members of a Chicalim housing society in a letter addressed to the District Collector and the panchayat has alleged that an illegal construction work is being carried out in their neighbourhood.
The Panchayat has issued stop work notice to the concerned person and has directed him to submit permissions, title documents and licences within three days failing which it would initiate action under Goa Panchayat Raj Act 1994.
The members alleged that the said construction work does not have permissions and it is being constructed on proposed road as per ODP. In the past, a similar letter was submitted to the panchayat on December 14, 2020 followed by another on April 7, 2021. Meanwhile, the concerned person said he contacted Chicalim Comunidade members and the sarpanch in this regard and had taken permissions from them.
The concerned person said he wants to build a shed to keep his goods and items safe and added that he has informed the sarpanch about the same.
