NEW DELHI: Finance Minister P Chidambaram on Thursday assured the help of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to the bank loan borrowers hit by the suspension of the iron ore mining in Goa since October last.
He reacted in the meeting of the Consultative Committee on Finance here on Goa where Shantaram Naik MP criticised the RBI and banking institutions not coming to the rescue of those affected by the suspension of mining operations in Goa.
Naik pointed out the plight of people who had taken loans for trucks and barges used in transportation of iron ore.
