Children screened for anaemia, given dietary advice

PANJIM: The students of Goa Medical College (GMC), Bambolim and the Indian Medical Association Medical  Students Network (IMA MSN) screened as many as 120 children for anemia and were given dietary advice as well as referral to the rural health and training centre (RHTC), Mandur, if severely anamic.

The ‘Anemia Camp for adolescent children’ was jointly organised by the Department of Community Medicine and RHTC, Mandur on Sunday.

On the occasion, Divya Dinesh Gaude, Riya Sharma and Leah from MSN team conducted a health talk explaining iron deficiency anemia to school children in simple terms and ended with a quiz to test what they had learnt.
