PANJIM: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Adv Pratima Coutinho was in a rude shock when the Children’s Court on Friday issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against her for non appearance in court in connection with a case.
The warrant was cancelled after she appeared before the Court later in the afternoon.
It has come to the fore that Pratima has failed to appear during the hearing on the framing of charge against the accused named in the First Information Report (FIR) against her and four other under POCSO and Juvenile Justice Act, 2012 for revealing identity of a minor molestation victim.
Pratima, who charged State government with using political force for political vendetta, later along with her lawyer appeared before the Children Court only after which Court ordered for cancellation of the warrant.
Then Shiv Sena Goa Vice President Rakhi Prabhudesai Naik had filed the complaint against all the accused for revealing identity of a 17-year-old girl who is victim of a molestation by Jharkhand based boy in Sanguem Taluka of South Goa.
Pratima along with other accused had visited the village on July 8, 2018 and thereafter had circulated the message on social media revealing identity of mother of the victim.
