PANJIM: The Chimbel Village Panchayat on Saturday accepted most of the proposal/draft Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) presented by the Village Development Committee (VDC) team.
The VDC meeting chaired by Chimbel sarpanch Manisha Chopdekar discussed and prepared GPDP.
The meeting started with heated argument as 1st VDC meet that was scheduled on 26.12.2021 was cancelled on last minute without giving any due intimation to VDC members. However, later meeting went smoothly as sarpanch admitted her mistake and assured VDC members to take care of same in future. Sarpanch clarified that she got last minute appointment with Chief Minister on discussing the long pending demand of setting up school in village.
On this, the VDC members told Sarpanch that this is election time and Chief Minister giving appointment/discussing this long pending issue at this stage cast serious doubt fulfilling this demand.
VDC member Manuel Vaz pointed out why the sarpanch alone went to meet Chief Minister on this important issue and why other panchas or VDC were not informed or taken in confidence? The Sarpanch maintained silence.
The GPDP will be further discussed if required and approve during the special gram sabha convened at 10 am on Sunday, January 2.
