PANJIM: The Chimbel Gram Seva Kala Ani Sunskrutik Manch has charged Town & Country Planning officials and the village panchayat of Chimbel for allegedly approving a construction plan in violation of the rules. As per a complaint filed at Old Goa police station, the TCP office produced false, fraud site inspection report to approve the plan.
“We brought the misappropriation acts to the notice of the deputy town planner R N Volvoikar on January 18, 2017 but there is no reply or action. Equally, the village panchayat is also responsible for the misappropriated acts and fraud for approving the project plan. The panchayat has also knowingly neglected the ground reality and facts, and failed to take action on our complaint,” reads the complaint copy signed by the Manch Vice President Gurudas Shirodkar and two others.
The Manch further alleged that its members are being pressurized to withdraw the applications by misguiding and provoking some locals against the organisation. “It seems that people/officials involved in the scam can go to any level and adopt alternative methods to crush and suppress our voice,” the complainants said.
