PANJIM: The Old Goa police on Saturday arrested Pirahmid alias Irfan Ladduper (23), a resident of Indiranagar, Chimbel on the charge of raping a 22-year-old girl from the same village.
The victim in her complaint stated that since October 2020, on many occasions, the accused allegedly had forceful sexual intercourse with her on the pretext of marriage and against her consent. The accused also refused to marry her.
Following a complaint, the police arrested Irfan Ladduper, who was working as a sales boy at a garments shop in Panjim.
A case has been registered against Irfan Ladduper under section 376 of IPC and produced before the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Panjim, who remanded him in five days police custody. PSI Laureen Sequeira is conducting further investigations under the guidance of Old Goa PI Satish Padwalkar.
