Chinchinim and Dandevado Locals Present Memorandum to CM Pramod Sawant Urging New Bypass

In a concerted effort to address longstanding concerns and preserve local land, residents of Chinchinim and Dandevado presented a memorandum to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. The primary demand outlined in the memorandum is the construction of a new bypass in Dandevado, Chinchinim, as an alternative to the government’s proposal for road widening that would necessitate land acquisition.

Upendra, a representative of the local community, expressed the collective sentiment, stating that the government’s plan to acquire land for the widening of the existing road has raised significant concerns among the residents. He emphasized that back in 1988, 30 meters of their land was already acquired for the construction of a two-lane highway. The residents now adamantly demand a new bypass instead of further land acquisition for road construction.

Highlighting the historical context of land acquisition, Upendra stressed the importance of finding alternative solutions that would address the community’s needs without encroaching on their properties. The call for a bypass aligns with the residents’ commitment to preserving their land and maintaining the integrity of the local landscape.

As the memorandum reaches Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, the community hopes for a responsive and considerate approach from the government, taking into account their plea for a new bypass as a viable alternative to address both local transportation needs and the preservation of residents’ land.
