MARGAO: After bickering for years over the proposal to construct a panchayat ghar cum sports complex, the Chinchinim panchayat has finally approved the same, unanimously.
At its meeting, the panchayat approved the proposal for the construction of the panchayat ghar and multipurpose hall which will be constructed by GSIDC. The proposal has been sent to the TCP for its approval.
Welcoming the decision of the panchayat, Velim MLA Benjamin Silva said the work on the new panchayat ghar could commence within the next couple of months as the project was earlier approved by the GSIDC, but the village panchayat had not granted construction licence for the same.
The panchayat has also decided to develop the market complex on the land opposite the CRC ground.
where it will be built on 1000 square meters of land.
