MARGAO: The Chinchinim panchayat has assured the gram sabha that the garbage left behind after the Chinchinim fair, which concluded in September, will be disposed off shortly. Sarpanch Santos Rebello stated that the garbage would be disposed of through proper channels and that the panchayat was aware of the problem and had been looking into it.
The gram sabha also discussed the security concerns in the village and passed a resolution that a tenant verification drive be carried out by the panchayat in collaboration with the police. The discussion revolved around the rising migrant population in Chuinchinim and the need for the panchayat to have records of those living in rented premises.The panchayat also formed various village-level committees.
