MARGAO: Come Monday, and farmers from Chinchinim will harvest their fields at Diguam Bhand, which were fallow and brought under paddy cultivation recently.
It has been informed that around 170 hectares of fallow land was brought under the plough and rice was cultivated here in kharif season; a movement in a bid to bring fallow agricultural land back into cultivation. It is pertinent to note that nearly 40 farmers had evinced interest in reviving agriculture in this locality, as most of the land was lying fallow for several years.
Fr George Quadros of Don Bosco Society, Loutolim had managed to transplant and agriculture drones were used to spray fertilisers.
