Chinchinim sarpanch,deputy survive no-trust
MARGAO (HR):?Chinchinim sarpanch Olwin Antao and his deputy Dora Fernandes survived a scare when a no confidence motion tabled by the opposition failed to unseat them from office on Wednesday.
Though the no trust motion was signed by six panch members, the motion received the support of only five of the signatories, with Panch Lavina Rebello backing out.
The motion was signed by Agnelo Pascoal Xavier, Archange D’Sa, Thomas Rebello, Santos Rebello, Lavina Rebello and Constancio Fernandes.
After wining the confidence motion, sarpanch Olwin Antao thanked the members for reposing their faith in him.
He also thanked social worker Cyril Leitao for his efforts to ensure that the ruling body remains united till the five year term.
