MARGAO: Chinchinim village, which had gone into a voluntary lockdown since June 29, will unlock from Monday onwards.
It may be recalled that the village had decided to go for a lockdown following three COVID positive cases. Chinchinim, Deussua deputy sarpanch Valentino Barretto said, “The villagers displayed a casual attitude following relaxation in the first lockdown.” “The voluntary lockdown was to reinstate the seriousness as well as to make sure the virus spread is arrested” he said and added that the lockdown evoked a very good response from the vendors, shopkeepers and the villagers.
Valentino said, “When the village is unlocked, the awareness and mandatory wearing of face masks and social distancing norms will continue.”
