The five-day Chitra Utsav will be organized at Shree Vithal temple at Vithalapur, Sanquelim from April 4.
On the occasion, Chitra, the first month of Hindu calendar, various religious activities like Bhajan, Kirtan and special pooja are organized throughout the month. Later in the evening, Dashavtari folk dramas are performed.
As soon as the dashavtari folk drama is over at midnight on April 8, a folk dance is performed by Virbhadra, who is considered to be one of the attendants of Lord Shiva, who performs warrior dance. After Virbhadra dance, the Rane Sardesai community and other members associated with the temple pull the chariot in the premises of the temple.
