CHORAO: Angered by the sudden postponement of the Chodan-Madel gram sabha on Sunday, the villagers organized an ‘unofficial gram sabha’ and resolved to demand dissolution of the panchayat.
According to the villagers, Sarpanch Divya Usapkar had called a gram sabha on Sunday. Moreover, the gram sabhas on February 16 and March 16 were adjourned.
As per the schedule, the villagers went to the panchayat on Sunday morning, but were shocked to see a notice on the door stating that the gram sabha had been postponed.
The villagers got angry and asked the new secretary to continue the gram sabha, but the secretary said he cannot continue the gram sabha, as the sarpanch has fixed the notice to postpone the gram sabha.
