PANJIM: All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary Girish Chodankar on Sunday has questioned Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar’s decision to attend the swearing in ceremony of new Uttar Pradesh (UP) CM leaving Goa in crises.
Addressing the media, Chodaknar said, “I am surprised despite having several issues at hand in Goa, road accidents, murders, the bar issues, casino licence issue, law and order problem, portfolios are not distributed and Government has come to a standstill and we are spending lot of time unnecessarily and instead of this Parrikar has gone to attend swearing in ceremony of UP CM who is known for his lose and strong talks against the minorities”
“Today BJP is having the majority of minority MLA’s because majority community has totally rejected them. Seven MLAs are from the minority community. Why Parrikar has to leave the State in crises and attend the UP swearing in? Secondly, I want the seven minority MLAs to explain to the people of Goa why Parrikar attended the swearing in of such a Chief Minister from UP who is known for attacks on minorities?” said Chodankar
Further he added that he wants an immediate reaction from Goa Forward champion Vijay Sardesai as he has said that he is going to protect the minorities in Goa as he was voted by the minorities and secular forces of Goa. “I want to know the immediate reaction of Sardesai that his chief minister has gone to UP to attend the swearing in ceremony,” he added.
