PONDA: The nullah at Durbhat which was choked for around two decades was finally desilted on Thursday.
Locals expressed happiness and heaved a sigh of relief. The choked nullah has been causing flooding in surrounding areas during monsoon every year and hence residents from Ward 7 have been demanding the choked nullah be cleared for the past several years, said local Panch member Krishna Vasant Naik.
He said with the monsoon fast approaching, there were concerns about flooding again this year. Considering this, the nullah choked with garbage was cleaned on Thursday.
