Chorao assault: Meet to discuss action plan

CHORAO: Annoyed over the failure by police to nab the culprit involved in the attack on Sunil Betkekar, the Chorao Villagers Action Committee (CVAC) has convened a public meeting at Vishnu Devasthan hall at Saude-Chorao on Tuesday to decide its future course of action.

Betkekar was assaulted on July 12 near Madel Grace Church, Chorao. In his statement to the police, the victim had named the suspect, who is a government driver. The accused has been absconding since the day of the incident and police have failed to arrest the accused. A public meeting on July 27 had condemned the attack. The villagers had also resolved and submitted a memorandum to the CM, Dy Speaker and Madkaikar.
