Church fact-finding team inspects Curchorem cemetery

CURCHOREM: Members of a fact-finding team of Goa church and Council for Social Justice and Peace, a national-level organisation visited Guardian Angel Church cemetery on Friday to inspect the level of desecration of Crosses, graves, niches and tombs that were vandalised on July 10.

CURCHOREM: Members of a fact-finding team of Goa church and Council for Social Justice and Peace, a national-level organisation visited Guardian Angel Church cemetery on Friday to inspect the level of desecration of Crosses, graves, niches and tombs that were vandalised on July 10.
The delegation led by Executive Secretary of the national organisation Fr Savio Fernandes visited the cemetery with Parish Priest Fr Vithal Miranda and Assistant Parish Priest Fr Ronaldo Fernandes and inspected the broken tombs, niches and Crosses, which were damaged by unknown miscreants. 
Later, speaking to the parishioners who gathered at the cemetery, Fr Savio explained the purpose of the visit and sought opinions about the incident and also inquired if anything had happened earlier in the locality that could have triggered the incident.
According to Fr Savio, the team would visit all places where the desecration and vandalisation took place in the State and would prepare a detailed report after speaking to the people, which would subsequently be made public.
