MARGAO: Stating that the government and more specially the Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant should not forget the power of Saint Franscis Xavier, Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Churchill Alemao on Tuesday expressed anger for no action from the government against the illegal structure at a protected site in Old Goa. He has demanded to demolish the said illegal structure immediately.
Addressing the media persons at his Varca office he also said that there are ongoing talks between Nationalistic Congress Party and TMC with regard to pre-poll alliance.
“It is surprising that the government has not yet demolished the illegal structure built at the heritage site of Old Goa, as a result several Goans are still continuing with their agitations against the illegal structure,” said Alemao .
He further said the chief minister had assured people that the said structure would be demolished at the earliest, but failed to act.
“I urge the CM to fulfill the word given to the people and demolish the illegal structure immediately. Dr Sawant will surely see the effect of not taking action in the next Assembly election,” said Alemao.
He has demanded to demolish the structure by the end of January or will take further steps pertaining to protesting against the illegal structure.
“I would like to request the owner of the structure to demolish the same on its own,” Alemao appealed.
