MARGAO: Former PWD Minister Churchill Alemao has demanded immediate installation of the statue of Dr Jack de Sequeira at the Legislative Assembly and also at either Cortalim junction, Margao or on the Assolna-Cavelossim bridge.
Churchill has also invited speakers associated to any party or organisation to speak at the public meeting of the Goa Public Forum.
When asked whether the Goa Public Forum will hold opinion poll-like activity on the issue of Mopa-Dabolim airports, Churchill said it is better to keep their strategies undisclosed, while he and Radharao Gracias addressed a press conference in Margao on Wednesday.
While interacting with media, Alemao said that during the opinion poll people of Goa voted beyond religious lines against the merger. He also informed that during the tenure of Adv Radharao Gracias there was a demand for a statue of Dr Jack de Sequeira at the Assembly complex which later faded away.
Adv Radharao Gracias informed that the public meet of the Goa Public Forum will primarily try to inform the people on the failures of the present BJP-led Goa government. The leaders have appealed to all other leaders under various banners to speak at the meet to give solidarity to the issue of protecting Goa and Goans.
