A worthy decision in repairing Goan roads

Recently PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar told the Goa Legislative Assembly that all potholes on the road in different parts of the State would be filled up before the ensuring Ganesh Chaturthi festival.
He also stated that the government would buy a jetpatcher machine to remove potholes. During recent years, the vehicle riders have been facing great risk and danger while proceeding along the potholed roads.
Many of them including even ladies have sustained serious injuries by collapsing at the potholed areas. (Seen in the picture is a big pothole along the road that was recently noticed adjacent to the Ponda Municipal Council near Tisk, in Ponda). In fact, these potholed roads were to be repaired prior to the current monsoon.
However, it is rather unfortunate that the concerned competitive authorities could not come to the rescue of innocent commuters thereby raising their hardships while travelling along different locations, more so during late evening and night.
The recent decision of PWD Minister to cover up the potholes on priority basis is indeed a worthy one which would certainly be welcomed by public at large.
It is absolutely necessary that the existing dangerous situation on roads is improved at the earliest so that safety is assured to precious human lives. By the way, wherever potholes were filled up at some spots recently, big pieces of rubble are seen in an exposed condition. Uneven surface has been noticed at most locations.
The PWD Minister needs to advice the concerned authorities to see to it that the level of the potholed sections is in uniformity with the level of the road. This would go a long way in assuring a safe and comfortable journey to one and all.
Last but not the least, quality of work must be maintained so that the roads last for a longer period.
