I am a student of St Xavier’s College, Mapusa. There is an increasing number of fatal accidents involving students as well as older citizens. This is why I applaud the latest initiative taken by the Government of India to increase fines for traffic violations.
Hopefully, this will act as a deterrent and make people obedient and disciplined. People are complaining about the fines, but don’t realise that all they need to do to avoid paying them is follow the rules!
I suggest the Goa government implements these fines as soon as possible to create a sense of discipline in all those having vehicles.
