This is in reference to the news item with headline “180 houses in Vasco issued notices for releasing waste water” in Herald dated February 15.
This is nothing but the latest modus operandi of the residents of at least Gandhinagar, Vasco, who play this dirty game of releasing waste water from their illegal constructions to the surrounding neighborhood. By creating this nuisance, they try to claim sewerage connections free of cost which they cannot get in a legal way.
One such hit case is being faced by us the residents of Sansmollem-Baina, which is located downhill of Gandhinagar, Vasco.
It is nearly four years that so many complaints, notices and even orders were issued by the Vasco Municipal Council to these offenders but to no avail, still the situation has worsened day by day and we are the sufferers of health problems such as dengue, constant flu.
The Vasco Municipal Council is equally playing a game of eyewash by issuing notices/orders as it is not affecting either the authorities or the council members/MLAs but it is affecting the helpless local residents like us.
Even when there are means to manage this waste water in a hygienic manner they mischievously do not solve the problem by themselves but want to victimise us by continuing this havoc of polluting the environment, creating health hazard, destroying our properties and make us walk through the dirty water every day, only to secure their own privileges.
