Many people fail to realize the importance of using helmets. They carry it along with them throughout the journey and wear it only on seeing the cops. Such instances are mostly noticed on the Ribandar causeway which is one of the accident prone zones. Several accidents have occurred on this causeway wherein innocent lives are lost, at times for no fault of theirs. Still, several office-goers unmindful of the consequences are seen travelling along this route without their helmets and wear it only on reaching closer to Divja Circle where the cops are mostly present. The female riders are more concerned of protecting their hair from the harmful sunlight or for reasons best known to them and wear scarves as though these scarves will protect them in any untoward circumstances. Do we do this only to avoid being fined? We need to understand that our lives are precious and the loss of our lives can ruin our families. Though we might not always be lucky, but helmets can protect our heads from severe injuries.
