The garbage problem in Goa is become a headache for the government and people as every nook and corner of Goa is filled with garbage, emitting foul smell which can cause an epidemic situation if the problem is not tackled immediately as each and every village is turning into “Sonsoddo” like situation.
What is really disturbing and shocking site to see in the early morning is that every villager who has a motorcycle brings with him a plastic bag full of garbage and throws it in another village road making each and every village dirty and filthy, thus not observing the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan or Clean India Mission launched by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In the olden days, to my knowledge our grandfathers used to burn the dry waste after collecting in a bin and the wet waste would be used as manure for the plants or fields. This doesn’t happen nowadays and now everyone tries to despise the waste on the roadside unless the Village Panchayats don’t take cognition of this problem our villages of Goa will also become like our cities.
