Bus shelters are meant for the benefit of commuters awaiting at these premises for proceeding to their respective destinations.
However, at many locations, we come across waste papers, plastic bottles, etc occupying the floor of these premises thereby giving it a dirty appearance. Commuters face great inconvenience in the process and they prefer to remain standing outside the bus-shelter rather than occupying the same. Seen in the picture is the bus-shelter near Two Pillars at Queula Village in Ponda. As on June 21, at 7.30 am, leaves, a beer bottle, plastic bags, etc were noticed here.
The concerned authorities should take a note of this and see to it that bus-shelters are kept neat and tidy on a permanent basis. Since cleanliness is next to godliness, let us hope that prompt favourable action would follow in this regard in public interest.
