For a quite long time junction boxes existing over the streetlight poles along Abade Faria road in Margao have been lying in an exposed condition. This being a strategic route the situation turns dangerous for the lives of innocent pedestrians proceeding along the road. More so, innocent children are likely to touch the live wires thereby receiving an electric shock. This would certainly lead to adverse consequences.
During a recent visit at this place, situation in this regard was found to be unchanged. It is absolutely necessary that the exposed junction boxes at above location are provided a suitable cover on prompt basis so that public at large are assured safety on a permanent basis.
The higher officials at the Electricity Department in Margao should take a note of this serious matter and initiate immediate favourable action in providing covers to the exposed junction boxes so that precious human lives are assured safety and protection on a permanent basis.
Let us hope that prompt positive steps would follow in this important matter in the interest of pedestrians.
