Vegetable vendors occupying the roadside at Patto-Ribandar have been confronted with great risk and danger to their precious lives. Road here is narrow and whenever vehicles, especially cars and pickups proceed in opposite directions, there is every possibility of vendors coming under the wheels of these vehicles.
Similarly, the reckless riders are likely to knock them down while proceeding along the adjacent Chimbel Road. Over the years, the vendors occupy this spot in order to support their families.
However, the concerned authorities have not yet provided safer premises to these vendors where they could continue their trade with ease.
Let us hope that at least now the vendors would be provided safer premises, a bit away from the main road so that they can continue selling vegetables and fruits without any difficulty. No doubt, they need to be assured necessary relief on a permanent basis.
