During heavy showers, rain water is often found stagnating on the road adjacent to the Adpai jetty in Ponda.
Whenever vehicular traffic, especially cars, proceeds through stagnated water, the water is splashed on unwary pedestrians, who are drenched for no fault of theirs.
It is but certain that the level of the road is uneven which ultimately leads to the flooding and poor drainage of the rainwater.
I doubt whether the elected representatives at the local village panchayat, (VP of Durbhat) have noticed this problem. In the interest of innocent pedestrians, it is time for the village panchayat to take a serious view of this sensitive issue and initiate prompt favourable action by carrying out necessary repairs at this location, in consultation with the PWD in Ponda.
Let us hope that the matter would receive top priority before the existing situation turns from bad to worse.
