Recently, after almost three years, the MDR-6 Siolim-Marna road got a new carpet of hot-mix which was a relief to commuters who used this road daily and suffered due to the thousands potholes during the rainy season and throughout the year.
Today, thousands of liters of water, is seen overflowing on the road and into the roadside drains. Precious water is allowed to go for waste at the cost of the taxpaying public.
Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant promised free water to the consumers but such wastage should not be allowed. We have another few more months to go as the summer approaches and the fear of water shortage looms on the villagers of Siolim.
The PWD Phen should have checked on the replacement of the old water supply line and got the jobs completed simultaneously before hot-mixing of the road.
