BSNL heading towards VRS?

Ten years ago, when no other operator had network coverage in the remotest villages of Goa, there was BSNL to the rescue. Today, the BSNL has reached a grim landmark of “poor” coverage even in city and towns.

Unfortunately, in these testing and more appropriately demanding times, the BSNL has been inefficient in ramping up its network services. Over the years, the BSNL has failed in up scaling their technology.

As abysmal as their service is, the BSNL still provides a 3G network, when Jio and Airtel has already deepened their roots in 4G and are mulling over 5G.

My father recalls a bitter experience while lodging a complaint to local BSNL office about the network, the personnel incharge shrugged off his responsibility and passed the buck on higher authorities.

Surprisingly, the person also suggested to opt for a different network service provider. General Manager of BSNL points towards shortage of staff to repair towers. What an irony!

First, the BSNL proceeded for an early retirement of its majority employees to cut down costs, and now VRS is around the corner for BSNL as a company.
