was thrown open to the traffic a couple of months back. It is, however, seen that the approach roads on both sides of the culvert have an uneven surface. The road has several deep depressions on either side of the culvert and the road over the culvert is at a slightly higher level. This gives the road-users a bumpy ride as they cross the culvert.
There are no pot-holes over here but the unevenness of the road makes it more dangerous than roads with pot-holes. This is simply because the uneven road can take the vehicular drivers unawares, specially at night. A speeding two-wheeler could even have a fall over here.
It is also seen that many vehicles do not follow the diversion and cross the culvert from the wrong side as seen in the photo. The authorities concerned need to level the portion of the road on either side of the culvert so that road-users can experience a smooth drive and it will also prevent two–wheeler riders from losing the control of their vehicles.
