Clear pavements for pedestrians in Ponda

At different locations in the State, pavements have been built for the benefit of pedestrians proceeding along the road.

However, it has been noticed that public at large have been unable to utilise the same due to one reason or the other. It would be appropriate to mention some instances at Ponda in this regard. At the pavement adjacent to the old bus stand, stray cattle occupy the same on most occasions. Such a situation causes inconvenience to one and all.

Private cars are too parked over the pavement opposite Almeida High School. Further, some of the vegetable/fruit vendors often occupy the area to sell vegetables and fruits. Seen in the picture are creepers occupying the pavement. The location is opposite Bank of Baroda at Varkhandem. Such an undesirable situation causes inconvenience for the pedestrians.

The Ponda Municipal Council (PMC) as a competent authority should take a note of the above important matter and clear pavements for the benefit of innocent pedestrians. Prompt favourable steps in this direction would go a long way in enabling the public at large to experience smooth movement over the pavements situated at different locations. Let us hope that needful positive action would follow in public interest.
