Although cleanliness assumes great importance in our day-to-day lives, we often come across waste papers, plastic bags and other garbage dumped not only along roadsides but also inside the drains and nullahs.
The situation is rather undesirable and needs to improve at the earliest. Seen in the picture is the drain containing waste papers, plastic bottles and cups, etc. adjacent to the sub-district hospital near Tisk in Ponda. As on Friday April 26 at 6:00 pm situation in this regard was found to be stagnant.
Let us hope that the concerned authorities would take a note of this important matter and arrange prompt clearance of this particular drain without any further delay. Such a positive step would go a long way in achieving the goals of ‘Swachch Bharat Abhiyaan’.
