Colva is considered to be the most premium beach in South Goa but unfortunately over the years, Colva Beach has been neglected by our government judging after having a look at the Colva creek. The creek has become an open reservoir for raw sewage discharge and garbage dump from the shacks, hotels, hawkers and public under the very eyes of its local Panchayats and the government. Public also seem to be at ease to throw their left over garbage into the creek in the absence of any deterrent.
However, the creek seems to be at the mercy of mother nature when the rains flush the dirty stinking creek waters back in the seas. It is high time the local Panchayat and the Tourism Department inspect the creek and take remedial action against offenders who abuse and pollute the creek for their ease.
A look at the creek and its waters is an eye opener for us that marine life and the environment holds no value for our elected representatives where builder interests prevail over all others!
