Thanks to photographs of civic issues, the authorities at most times initiate actions and rectifications. The recent example is that of the loose pavers around the Dona Paula circle that posed danger to motorists, especially to two-wheeler riders (O Heraldo Jan 7). The very next day the pavers were repaired (O Heraldo Jan 9). Pavers should be avoided at critical locations such as around turnabouts and traffic islands, especially those located below sloping roads and where roads have a sharp turn. Loose and uneven pavers could cause a mishap and a traffic pile-up.
White-topping on the road or concrete would be long-lasting and should be used at such crucial junctions.
