Concretisation of a road in Vasco could be the solution

In what has now become an annual feature, this year too pot-holes have kept a date with the monsoon season.

Pot-holes have reappeared on the F.L. Gomes road near the vegetable market.
It may be recalled that in the past this stretch of the road had drawn attention because of the pathetic condition it develops even after a few showers.
During the monsoon season stop-gap steps are taken by covering the pot-holes with stones and mud. But a couple days of rain washes away the stone and mud leaving the pot-holes exposed all over again.
In the past there were also protests held to repair the stretch of the road during the monsoon. This year too, the rains have taken a toll of the road. And we are just midway of the South West monsoon. It is pertinent to note that heavy traffic which includes trailers, tankers, trucks and buses pass along this stretch of the road as they move to and forth from the Mormugao Harbour.
Pedestrians too have to cross the road in order to go to the vegetable market. If necessary action is not taken by the authorities to repair it, the condition of the road will only worsen in the days to come. If hot-mixing does not solve the problem then the authorities concerned should consider concretising this section of the road in order to provide a lasting solution to the problem.
