The ban on cow slaughter has caused peculiar problems. The cattle are new residents on NH17 at Dandeavado , Chinchinim. The panchayat has cattle pound but not interested in tackling the problems, which has caused many accidents though fortunately not fatal.
The Government has renegade on its pious promise to lift cattle from highways at least.
The cattle which have outlived their profitable use are a financial burden to farmers to maintain.
Some zealous believers in godliness of the holy cow should come forward to adopt them, establish farms and feed the cows through voluntary donations.
