In the past few days deep craters have developed on the main road leading to the Port Town near the HP petrol pump. Some weeks back several sewerage manholes on this stretch of the road were opened ostensibly for some sewerage work. However it appears that proper asphalting was not carried out at the spots where the manhole cover exists. This has resulted in deep craters which cause a lot of inconvenience to the road-users, specially, the two-wheeler riders. During the rainy season when the roads get flooded these craters will not be visible as they will be covered by rain-water. This can lead to road accidents and specially self-accidents. The authorities concerned need to asphalt these spots on the road on a war-footing.
