Craters on main roads

Driving in Goa has become a nightmare with most of the roads filled with potholes.

People in Salcete have tried to get the attention of the PWD authorities by planting saplings of banana and even papayas. But all the authorities do is cover the potholes like a make-up which soon disappears with the next shower.
Citizens have even held rasta rokos to get the attention of the concerned authorities. All the authorities do is pass the buck and say that it does not come under the purview.
How does one drive on these roads? Has the PWD become totally apathetic to the road user’s woes?
Besides the accidents such road surfaces can cause, what about damage to vehicles and huge expenditure for spares. Many people travelling with two-wheelers have met with accidents and suffered injuries because of these potholes. An innocent guy who tries to go over the pothole is not aware how deep it is and often needs help to get his two-wheeler out of the deep hole.
If a tree is causing damage to the road it needs to be trimmed keeping aside sentiments of a section of people. It’s the right of tax paying citizens to have good motorable roads.
