This culvert has broken at least four times after construction. The panchayat also failed to check the sub standard work carried out by the contractor. The cement slabs are of inferior quality. They should be very strong to sustain the weight of several heavy vehicles and buses plying every day on them. Lakhs of public money spent for the construction of culverts is gone in the drain.
The PWD engineer who supervised the work and the sarpanch are equally responsible for the poor quality work carried out by the contractor. I bring this letter to the notice of the sarpanch not to be negligent while carrying out such work in the village.
