Lakhs of rupees were spent to illuminate the walking track around the Cuncolim school playground during the tenure of former MLA Rajan Naik of which 50 percent of the light fixtures were rendered non-functional for quite some time. Not a single fixture along the National highway has been operational. When complained to the Cuncolim Electricity Department and the officials said, “The light fixtures do not come under their jurisdiction”. Hope the concerned authorities will look in the matter at the earliest.
Similarly, none of the streetlights are working on the road passing through my ward Bencleamvaddo.
