Death trap at Varca to Calvaddo bypass junction

The road construction activity at the Benaulim-Varca road and the Calvaddo bypass T-junction never seems to end. Add to that, the impending merging of the poorly aligned Western Bypass from the Seraulim side on this connector and you have a recipe for disaster.

The roads in the State are in an utter disrepair and washed away with the first monsoon showers. Confusing signages, poor chamber design, illogical diversions and lack of proper lighting make this area a veritable death trap especially at nights.

To make matters worse, people taking the Calvaddo bypass stop at the trisection to buy fish, fruits, vegetables and other miscellaneous items from the illegal makeshift shops set up there. Autorickshaws are also seen parked to pick up passengers, and at night the place becomes a safe haven for drunkards and other anti-social elements.

Will the government do something to complete the project in time and get rid of encroachments or is this a 10 year plan?
