Although consumption of liquor at public places has been banned, we still come across such instances on regular basis. Not only on beaches but even along roadsides, we notice empty liquor bottles being disposed from time to time. Seen in the picture is one such instance that was recently noticed along the Tisk-Khadpabandh Road in Ponda.
The concerned authorities should take a note of this matter and undertake surprise visits at different locations from time to time (more so during late evening and night) and levy heavy cash fines on persons consuming alcohol at public places.
Unless the issue is dealt with a firm hand, it would be difficult to bring the existing undesirable situation under firm control. Hope that the concerned authorities would do the needful on priority basis before the existing situation in this regard deteriorates further.
