I would like to bring to your notice about the pathetic conditions of the Industrial estate roads in Verna.
Verna being the biggest industrial hub in Goa, should have world-class infrastructure, however it is in a very sorry state.
This has also become a safety issue for pedestrians, two-wheeler riders and almost an invitation for accidents to the four and six wheelers vehicles that try to zig-zag on the road to avoid and dodge past innumerable pot-holes on the road.
Most of the employees working in these Industrial are salaried employees and are honest tax payers and it would be pertinent to ask if this is what they deserve?
Besides causing mental stress and health problems, these bad roads also damage our vehicles. When we gloat of ‘Make in India’ do we have this picture in mind?
Is this the message we would like to portray to foreign investors, when we invite them to set up industries here. Is this the ideal investment scenario we would like to project? Let’s get our basics right and concentrate on providing citizens the much-deserved infrastructure. Let’s begin with good roads!
