Exposed transformers pose a serious threat to public and stray cattle too. At some spots we come across the exposed transformers whereas in some cases the doors of the transformers are being tied with the help of strings or wires.
The latter serves a temporary purpose as the door remains half open thereby turning it dangerous for the pedestrians, especially minor children, who are likely to receive electric shock in case they happen to come in touch with live electrical wires.
One such instance was recently noticed along the stretch of road leading from Tisk towards the Sub-District Hospital in Ponda. I hereby request the higher officials at the Electricity Department to stop the practice of tying the door of the transformers with the help of strings or wires. Instead, an appropriate locking system should be introduced so that the doors of the transformers remain closed on a permanent basis.
Such a favourable step would ultimately assure safety to precious human lives. Let us hope that needful positive action would follow in this direction on priority basis.
