Whenever any trees are being chopped along the roadside, necessary precautions need to be taken so that human lives remain safe while proceeding along the concerned routes.
Otherwise untoward incidents are bound to occur sooner or later. Recently, a huge tree came crashing down on a proceeding scooterist while tree cutting was in progress along National Highway 66 at Nuvem. As a matter of fact, necessary precautionary measures were not undertaken while taking up the work. There were less persons deputed at this site to alert the travellers proceeding along this busy stretch of road.
The sole cop managing the area was insufficient to exercise a proper watch over the passersby. Perhaps, the barricades were not paced at the place of tree cutting for alerting public at large.
Works like that of above demand proper monitoring which was totally absent in this particular case. Ultimately, a precious life was lost in the process.
